Evoking the era of Horace Silver and Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, the Paul Carlon Quintet is where hard bop meets the present day. Saxophonist Carlon brings his composing and arranging skills to a program of lyrical originals and choice standards. Full of passionate fire and graceful subtlety, the group is made up of veterans of the New York jazz scene who bring their unique personalities to the mix. Formed in 2023, the group celebrates the release of its debut recording, Blues For Vita, on July 29^th, 2024 on Deep Tone records.
